My 20th year in business..... and what a year it's been already!

In January, I made the journey to New Orleans for Professional Photographers of America's annual convention where I received my Photographic Craftsman Degree!  Years of teaching my fellow photographers and service to the industry culminated with my son Nelson on stage with me to hang a shiny medallion around my neck.

February was the state convention where I was handed the leadership role of Professional Photographers of Michigan President.  The annual state print competition held its rewards for me as well; Two Best of Show Awards, a Judge's Choice Award and the ranking of one of Michigan's top ten photographers.

March brought me one step closer to earning my Master Photographer and Master Artist Degrees from Professional Photographers of America.  Three of my images were pre-qualified for inclusion in the National exhibit during the regional competition.

In April I had the honor of presenting an educational program on Photoshop to Mid Michigan Professional Photographers Association.

May of 1992 is when I officially "hug out my shingle" and opened my studio for business.  A lot has changed since I opened my studio twenty years ago.  I've been revisiting past practices, not only in my own work but also in the historical aspects of photography as an art, craft and science.
